THE DOLLAR LOAN CENTER NAMED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT OF THE YEAR

HENDERSON (March 3, 2023) – In February 2023 The Dollar Loan Center took home top honors at the 22nd Annual Economic Development & Small Business Awards. The arena, which opened its doors for its first public event on March 3, 2022, was named Economic Development Project of the Year by the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. The award was accepted by Foley Entertainment Group (FEG) President and CEO Kerry Bubolz, and NBA G League Ignite COO Gabe Mirabelli. Mirabelli previously served as FEG’s Director of Enterprise Operations and played an integral role in the construction of the arena.

“The Dollar Loan Center is one of our organization’s proudest accomplishments,” said Bubolz. “When we started construction, we knew the project would be great for our business and the City of Henderson, but we couldn’t have anticipated just how great the impact would be. The Dollar Loan Center has become a community epicenter that is providing family-friendly, affordable events and entertainment to all Southern Nevadans. We’re excited to see how the venue continues to grow and evolve year after year.”

“The Dollar Loan Center has proven to be a gathering point for the community, whether it’s the G League Ignite, Henderson Silver Knights, college basketball or some other fun event.  It offers an affordable, family-friendly entertainment venue for all of Southern Nevada,” said Henderson Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Scott Muelrath.

“We are thrilled The Dollar Loan Center received the Economic Development Project of the Year,” said Henderson City Manager and CEO Richard Derrick. “The Dollar Loan Center project is a prime example of a successful public-private partnership that has established Henderson as a premier sports destination, while strengthening our economy and providing world-class entertainment for our residents.”

The $84 million project, built in partnership with the City of Henderson and Whiting Turner Construction, was completed in just 18 months. It serves at the home of the American Hockey League’s Henderson Silver Knights, the Indoor Football League’s Vegas Knight Hawks, the NBA G League Ignite, and the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame. The venue has also hosted multiple concerts since opening including Godsmack, Alice Cooper’s ‘Detroit Muscle’ tour and Casting Crown’s ‘The Healer Tour.’
