Henderson Silver Knights Logo Dollar Loan Center in Henderson

Parking, traffic and pedestrian improvements are at the core of the Henderson Pavilion transformation into the Dollar Loan Center. Pedestrian bridges and underpasses. Key intersections improvement. Traffic signal and video monitoring. Traffic officers and crossing guards. All are key considerations in making getting to and from the Dollar Loan Center a breeze.

We’ve done our homework

For a capacity crowd of 6,000 people, approximately 1,600 spaces are needed for parking, according to a parking and transportation study of the area by Kimley-Horn, one of the nation’s premier planning and design engineering firms. Average vehicle occupancy was based on the standard for a local resident UNLV basketball game at Thomas & Mack, a nearly 100 percent local audience, consistent with audiences expected to attend AHL games at the Dollar Loan Center.

Room for everyone

Of the total 1,600 spaces required for a sold-out event, approximately 200 of those spaces are for employees who could park at an offsite location. It is estimated that between 1,000 and 1,400 spaces would be available in the existing onsite footprint. For overflow parking, the city is considering partnerships with nearby office parks where after-hours and weekend parking spaces are ample with shuttle service to and from the Dollar Loan Center. This strategy accommodates a capacity crowd while also taking into consideration people who may arrive on foot or be dropped off by Uber or Lyft.
